The Birth of
Stashed Away:
The Silex Code
I, Jaxon Stanford, began writing the story for the
feature film in 2006.  After meeting with several
Screenplay writers and not liking the results I began to
write the screenplay myself.  Then in early 2007 I was in
the play "The Odd Couple" as Felix and I met an actor
named
Kurt Jarvis who played Murray the Cop.  I admired
his acting ability and said one day on the set "you are
really a great actor" to which Kurt replied "thank you,
though I'm a much better writer than actor, but thanks."
I immediately asked if he'd ever written a screenplay
before and he said he wrote one once but he mostly
wrote Plays.  At that moment I thought should I present
my story to him and see if he can help me bring my story
and characters to life?  I did.  And he did.

Kurt seemed to understand my story and characters and
after months and months of writing and emailing ideas
back and forth to each other we have put together a story
that may rock the world.  As Kurt said in a recent email
to me "It's done, baby!!!!  Your ideas mixed with my
mind has produced one helluva script."

Now the question is can we work with
Matt Gettemeier
and
Gary Eckert to bring this incredible vision to life on
film?  I believe we can.
Gary Eckert is a veteran
Cinematographer and Director of Photography from Utah
with many years of experience in both TV and Film who's
Resume speaks for itself.
Matt Getemeier is an
extremely talented film maker here in St. Charles and I
have admired his work for years. He has amazed me with
his film making abilities and I believe that both he and
Gary Eckert are the ones to help bring our vision to life
on
the Big Screen
.  They both have an amazing ability to
tell a great story through the camera.

Matt Schmitt, another extremely talented filmmaker and
a
full-time editor, actually helped me begin to write the
story in October of 2006.  I bounced the idea off of him
and asked if he would be interested in filming and editing
the project.  Matt said yes he was interested and we
discussed the plot and what I was writing in detail.  I
went back to the drawing board and continued to write
the story.  And that was the very beginning and the birth
of the movie idea.

Now we are on a journey.  A journey to raise the funds
and to make
one helluva movie; and I am just crazy
enough to believe that we can make something that is
technically worthy of release to Theatres nation wide.
I've brought together some of the best talent that I know
of in the St. Louis film making community.  Am I
crazy?....we shall see!

About the writers:

Kurt Jarvis makes his screenplay debut as the screenplay writer and co-creator
behind this chess match of violence that is
“The Silex Code.” Jarvis began his
writing career publishing comic books out of college. He embarked on more serious
writing and eventually landed at a newspaper in Illinois as a sportswriter. He moved
up the journalistic ladder and became editor at a small newspaper in Missouri.
There, he learned how to funnel information and worked closely with law
enforcement officials to get the story. His experience in that field really shine in this
script.

Jarvis moved to St. Louis seeking a more routine life away from the journalistic
world. He now works as a computer tech analyst and enjoys writing and acting to
fuel his creative side. He calls this endeavor a trip of emotions to make you think
and reflect on one’s life.

Jaxon Stanford is the co-creator/co-writer and has appeared in over 100 feature
films, commercials, infomercials, industrial films, educational films, short Films, and
many recent Plays.  He began writing this story for this current feature film in 2006.
Jaxon had seen first hand many independent films fail or struggle greatly because
they tried to be too large.  His idea was to write something small with a few
incredible characters and great character development with a fantastic story.  He
was trying to write a small feature film with a low number of actors and a limited
number of locations.  That was his main goal...to make a great small movie and tell
a fantastic story through the characters.

As he wrote the plot line and the story arc and the scene by scene breakdown of the
film he knew what kind of emotion he wanted from the characters in each scene but
he needed the really good emotional dialog and great character development to
make each scene work and be extremely powerful.

After trying 3 or 4 screen writers and not liking the results he had about given up on
screen writers and began to write it himself.  He then met Kurt Jarvis and found a
kindred spirit; someone that he clicked with; someone he could work with; someone
who was on the same page as him and shared his vision.  Jarvis could follow the
layout and follow the story and not expand it or make it too big.  What better person
to help Jaxon bring his vision to life than a playwright that was use to working with
limited space.

Together, through a great and satisfying collaboration we are bringing you
"Stashed
Away: The Silex Code"
